The Foundation for Peace
The Foundation for Peace is an
independent, not-for-profit civil society
organization dedicated to promoting peace and
understanding within and between societies.
Established in 2003, the Foundation realizes its
objectives through an array of programmes that
include, inter alias, strategic dialogue,
education & training, civil society initiatives,
capacity building, and varied youth and media
activities.
Mission
The mission of the Foundation is
to promote peace and harmony within and between
societies, cultures, and nations.
Objectives
The Foundation has the following
objectives:

to strengthen civil society,
promote democratic values and institutions,
social justice,
equality of opportunity and the
rule of law as means of establishing peace
within societies;

to
bring about peace and reconciliation within
and between societies, cultures and nations;
-
to take effective measures with
political, information, education and economic
tools and in concert with others, to address
potential conflicts before they reach the
threshold of violence;
-
to address the phenomena of
extremism, prejudice and discrimination;
-
to identify and help alleviate
the conditions which contribute to the rise of
extremism, prejudice and discrimination;
-
to facilitate scholarly
exchange of ideas and develop skills and
capacity of state and non-state actors, civil
society and individuals to address these
issues.
